Flavour Matching Game

Madame Thermomix was invited to play the Flavour Matching Game by fellow blogger and Thermomix demonstrator Nora who writes Journal of a French Foodie. It’s a game where you jot down ten flavour combinations that come to mind. Some of the results floating around blogs these days are pretty amazing. It’s an interesting way to find out how classic or adventurous your friends are. I think I’ll play it at our next dinner party!

Here are my ten flavour combinations:

1. Chilli/chocolate
2. Curry/apricots
3. Wild mushrooms/Yorkshire chorizo
4. Chicken/tarragon
5. Duck/green peppercorns
6. Strawberries/black pepper
7. Runner beans/butter
8. Cheddar/red onions
9. Puy lentils/curry
10. Fish/pink peppercorns

Here are the 5 blogs I am inviting to participate:

Tea Time in Wonderland
Quirky Cooking
Tongham Tasters’ Wine Blog

  • Sorry it took me so long to play!
    Mmmmh.
    Here we go:
    1- Guava-raspberry
2- Foie gras-Red Lillet (or scallop, a recent discovery)
    3- parmesan-sesame
4- strawberry-wasabi (merci Pierre Herme for imagining that one)
    5- Quince-comte
    6- gingerbread-pumpkin
    7- pear-chestnut
    8 – saffron – peach
9 – chicken and capers (in meatballs, tasted and strongly approved today!)
    10 – tomato-coriander (a classic, yet always wins)

    Fun game, Mrs Thermomix!

  • Well done Madame Thermomix and what a list of combinations! I’m flabbergasted! Very adventurous indeed! I have never tried some of those but I’m curious to, especially the chilli and chocolate and the strawberry and black pepper ones…
