Saturday night viewers of Channel 4’s “Come Dine With Me Down Under” on 7th May 2011 were treated to contestant Jane and her beloved “Bimby” (the other name for Thermomix, especially in Latin countries) and her Italian-inspired meal. So many viewers were bowled over by the intelligent food processor that also cooks, weighs and steams – and the ease and speed with which Jane made her meal – that the official UK Thermomix website registered more than 60,000 hits in the hour following the episode’s airing. To a different extreme, fellow Thermomix blogger Helene’s informative website SuperKitchenMachine.com’s server went down under the strain of masses of enquiries emanating from the UK.

Does this mean that UK domestic cooks and foodies are coming round to our Best Friend in the Kitchen? Let’s hope so! In the meantime, Madame Thermomix will be organising a series of “Thermomix on Tour” demonstrations in nearby Tongham Village Hall to accommodate the increased demand in the Surrey Hampshire area. Check out the UK Thermomix website for a demonstration in your area or email Madame Thermomix to arrange a free, no-obligation home demo for you and some friends or colleagues.
